Laser Treatments

Our appearance can greatly impact on how we feel about ourselves and how others react to us. Commonly, most of the changes we attribute to ageing are in fact caused by sun damage. Sun damage causes harm to the vital collagen fibers of the skin, resulting in a loss in skin support and changes in the skins texture and tone. Sun exposure can also contribute to open / broken blood vessels to the face resulting in an increased red complexion or fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores. We provide the most up-to-date, gentle and effective methods of skin rejuvenation that will make your skin look amazing and feel as young and radiant as you do.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal Technique :-

  • Depending on the area being treated, the process may take anywhere from several minutes to several hours to complete. The most commonly used lasers utilize a low energy laser beam. This beam passes through the patient’s skin and is attracted to the pigment of the hair. The energy passes down the hair shaft and is absorbed by hair follicles that are in the active growth phase, thereby disabling the hair follicle in the deeper layer of the skin. The hair follicles that are in dormant phase are not affected by the treatment. In most cases, minimal pain should be experienced and no anesthesia is required.

Laser Hair Removal Benefits:

  • A non-invasive, gentle technique that reduces undesirable hair from most parts of the body.
  • Treats larger areas effectively because it disables more than one hair at a time.
  • May make skin color and complexion more uniform.
  • Minimal discomfort.
  • Replaces waxing, electrolysis, shaving and bleaching.
  • No downtime.

Laser Hair Removal Considerations

  • Laser hair removal is an ongoing process that requires multiple sessions because it only affects actively growing hair, and not all hair follicles are active at the same time. In addition, high energy levels are avoided so as to minimize the risk of injury to the adjacent skin
  • Occasionally patients may experience slight redness of the skin or mild swelling around the hairs
  • Sunscreen is recommended for any area treated that may be exposed to the sun
  • Patients with darker skin may not respond well due to inadequate discrepancy between skin and hair colors
  • Blonde or gray/white hair is less responsive due to lack of ample pigment in the hair

LASER RESURFACING :-

  • Fractional skin resurfacing uses laser energy microbeams to create areas of affected tissue that extend through the epidermis into the dermis. These areas can be either "non-ablative" (the laser beams coagulate the affected tissue) or "ablative" (the laser beams vaporize the affected tissue). Non-ablative procedures are minimal to no downtime procedures, while ablative procedures provide a single treatment option. The body's natural healing process creates new, healthy tissue to replace the areas of affected tissue, resulting in healthier, younger-looking skin.

LASER TATTOO REMOVAL :-

  • The Nd:YAG laser emits light in the near infrared range at 1,064 nm, but is also capable of emitting 532 nm light in the green range using a potassium-titanyl-phosphate (KTP) crystal, referred to as a frequency doubling crystal. The ability to deliver two wavelengths of laser energy from a single machine enables this device to treat both black and red tattoos using 1,064 and 532 nm, respectively. This selectivity by wavelength is quite obvious when treating a tattoo containing both black and red ink. Despite painting the entire tattoo with the laser energy, only the black ink responds by whitening to the 1,064 nm wavelength. Black and dark blue ink respond well to the 1,064 nm wavelength, while red, and to a much lesser extent orange and yellow, respond to the 532 nm wavelength. Q-switched Nd:YAG laser in subjects with Fitzpatrick type VI skin and noted that more than half the tattoos cleared 75 percent to 95 percent after three to four treatments with minimal side effects, illustrating the ability to use 1,064 nm laser treatment in darker skin types.
